This week was quite an interesting one, the founder of Nightingale Associates, Mike Nightingale came to pay the office a visit from England. It is abit intimidating being in the presence of an architect who has so much insight and knowledge about architecture.
Alfred and I were eager to have an indepth dicussion with Mr. Mike Nightingale, just to get an idea of how he thinks in terms of design and how he goes about starting a project as well as the process which goes along with that. I learnt that he got lots of his inspiration from the past, in terms of why certain buildings were designed the way they were and not merely just building a complex shape which people would remember for years to come. Another important aspect about architecture which he made us aware of is human behaviour. By studying human behaviour, one learns how to position certain elements and how they relate to one another. Mike Nightingale even took the time to advise me on my Hub project, it was amazing.
This week was tremendous, because it was the first time I've gotten insight from a very well-known architect who specialises in Health, Science and Education. It was a great learning experience, and we look forward to learning more from him when he returns in October.
