Weekly Update

Hello to all,

The end of a short week at work, as i was on leave on monday past. This week our team focused on plotsheets for the Malaysian hospital, because they are to be issued before this coming monday.

I wouldn't really call this an interesting week, because nothing interesting happened. One would think that doing plotsheets would take a day or two, however it took our team 4 days. Surprising to anyone yes, but it is the checking and rechecking process is what consumes all the time. This is what accounts for 4 days of work on plotsheets alone.

I really hope we do something more interesting next week, but until then stay safe

Weekly Update

Hello to all,

As most of you should know, last week was a short week for most if not all of you due to the public holiday on Thursday 16th. My week was cut even shorter, as I put in leave for Friday 17th as well as monday the 20th, this is what I call a well-deserved break.

The Team and I continued on the Malaysian project lastweek as scheduled, and we were required to do overtime on the monday. In my personal opinion, the overtime done was really not necessary, as everything that needed to be done got done practically a day before the date of issue. So this must've been what one would call a "safety precaution", so rather to be safe than sorry i suppose. All in all, everything is up-to-date and on-track.

I wonder, after my long weekend, what the office has in store for me this time, peace and blessings.

Weekly Update

Hello to all,

An update on lastweeks events. Friday was the deadline for the portfolio review, so it was quite a stressful week. It was stressful having to upload most of the work, because most of the time the work takes quite a while to process and upload on the relative site. Nevertheless, everything was uploaded on time.

With the regards to the work produced in the office, we had gotten briefed on a new project which has already kicked off, the Malaysian hospital. Currently the team that Alfred and I are working with, are to produce, by tuesday, the cad files/pdf drawings of the internal fabric of all the floors of the hospital, and this hospital consists of 11 floors in total. Included in these drawings are the dimensions of each room, door tags for window schedules etc. So it is most likely that we'll be working overtime on monday and tuesday to meet the deadline.

We'll see how far we get by the end of today, if we get far enough, overtime might not even be necessary. I won't hold my breath on that one.

Weekly Update

Hello to all,

It is friday once again, the end of a good week. Not much to say though, although I am almost done with the property that I have been busy with on the NOAH project. If i have not mentioned this before, "NOAH" stands for Neighbourhood Old Age Homes.

Nonetheless, our next site/property visit will be done in 2 weeks time, as I have put in leave for next week. Andrea will be doing the next property. The clients came in for a meeting at the end of lastweek and confirmed the go-ahead on the project, although we'll not be doing as much as we initially anticipated, because they will only be recieving more funds for this project in November of this year. Not a big issue, as we will still have enough work on NOAH for the remainder of our stay at Nightingales.

So seeing as I'm going to be on leave next week, it will give me some time to get ahead with regard to my tech work. The only problem is finding the information required to do certain tasks, that remains a challenge on its own, but where there's a will, there's a way. Stay safe.
